Sep 24, 2018. Rural Women Development Centre (RWDC) conducted social accountability training to elected representatives, civil society representatives, common assembly member and women group in Ghorahi, Dang. There were 30 participants participated in that training including 12 female and 2 disable persons.
RWDC is promoting social accountability tools in this district to implement effectively in local government and civil society organization for effectiveness public service and establish good governance increasing transparency and public participation. In this context, RWDC realized on this area and after requesting from communities, social accountability training organized to them.
There were discussion about social accountability tools like; social audit, public hearing, public audit, community score card, community report card, exit pool, right to information (RTI) and citizen charter. RWDC facilitated on this tools as per government policies and procedures to entire participants. Similarly, the main objective of the training was to create vibrant civil society and establish accountable, legitimate, responsible and transparent local government. Along with RWDC chairperson Mrs. Aasmani Chaudhary presented about organization VMGO and key achievements of the organization.
The training resource person were DurgaLal KC (journalist) and Nabin Chaudhary (project coordinator of RWDC). Similarly, Rajani Shrestha welcomed to entire participants and informed about training objectives.
